Dr. Richard Tytus

Co-founder, Medical Director

Dr. Tytus is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University. He is currently a director of the Ontario Medical Association and sits on the national Virtual Medicine Task Force for clinical practice guidelines.

In the 2019 Canadian Adult Obesity Clinical Practice Guidelines, Dr. Tytus authored the chapter titled, “Emerging Technologies and Virtual Medicine in Obesity Management”.

Other past roles include director of the Canadian Medical Association, president of the Hamilton Academy of Medicine, co-chair of the Virtual Care Working Group, and member of the Ontario Physician eHealth Council.

Dr. Tytus has received numerous awards, including the 2012 Family Physician of the Year presented by the Ontario College of Family Physicians. He is a strong believer that technology improves patient outcomes and enhances access to healthcare, and this is an area of focus for him moving forward.
